LINSTOR needs the DRBD and ZFS kernel modules, so a cluster without them has no dynamic PV provisioning. OpenEBS LocalPV hostpath needs no kernel modules and also serves deliberately node-local workloads. The package is opt-in so it cannot change an existing cluster. Its class is named cozystack-local-hostpath so it cannot collide with an existing class name, and it is not the default so PVCs that omit storageClassName keep their current binding. The vendored RBAC is patched down to what volume reconciliation calls; helper Pods, Leases and analytics state stay in the install namespace. Images stay on docker.io, pinned by index digest.
