Helm's default poller falls back to a resource's Ready condition for kinds it has no rule for, so a vm-disk install could wait on the DataVolume's Ready and hold a helm-controller worker for the whole install timeout while an import runs or never completes. Whether CDI populated the disk is reported by the WorkloadMonitor, so the release now treats the DataVolume as current and Ready of a vm-disk no longer depends on the import. Release settings reach a HelmRelease when its application is created or updated; the reconciler that syncs definitions onto existing releases copies the chart reference, valuesFrom and labels only, so an existing disk picks this up on its next update. The vm-disk-rd package had no unit test target; it gets one, and a test that pins the entry. Assisted-by: LLM Signed-off-by: Aleksei Sviridkin <f@lex.la>
