tls.required was only emitted when the chart managed the certificates, so setting it on an instance using the operator's own CA was accepted by the schema and then dropped on the way to the CR — no enforcement, no error, no warning. For a setting whose entire purpose is refusing unprotected connections, silently ignoring it is the worst available outcome. The coupling was artificial: in the operator API required sits beside enabled with no dependency on either certificate reference, and enforcement works against operator-issued certificates just as well. Emit it in every configuration and let it mean what it says. Also loosen the two negative guards in the ApplicationDefinition check, which required a literal closing quote and exact brace spacing and so would have missed an unquoted key-bearing source.
