The per-test failure snapshots (host in cozytest.sh, tenant in run-kubernetes.sh) ran `crust-gather collect` unbounded. On a contended/degraded cluster the collect can hang indefinitely — observed wedging the E2E install step for ~2h35m after a test failure until the job-level cancel, with no output after the capture line. `|| true` only catches a bad exit code, never a hang. Wrap both invocations in `timeout -k 30 300`: a 5-minute cap (hard SIGKILL 30s later if the collect ignores SIGTERM) bounds the hang; a partial snapshot still beats a multi-hour wedge, and timeout's exit 124 is already swallowed by `|| true`.
